Visit Swansboro
We think great Italian food is reason enough to take a drive down to Swansboro. But if you’re planning a weekend on the Crystal Coast, the “Friendly City By The Sea” has so much more to offer. Our hometown offers history, culture, scenic beauty, and a range of activities to enjoy.
Lodging
The Crow’s Nest (Airbnb)
The Crow’s Nest is ideal for fishing, boating, kayaking and enjoying all the activities the Crystal Coast has to offer. Located in the heart of downtown Swansboro, it is an efficiency apartment overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and the White Oak River. It’s the perfect place for singles or couples to relax and explore all that Swansboro has to offer.
Downtown Swanny (Airbnb)
Downtown Swanny is found in the heart of Swansboro’s historic district. This waterfront condo is extremely quiet, even though it’s located above The Boro Restaurant & Bar. With just a few blocks are 10 outstanding restaurants, kayaking, boutiques, gift shops, fishing, and boat tours. Hammocks Beach State Park and Emerald Island beaches are just a 10-minute drive away.
Dining
The Boro Restaurant & Bar
The Boro Restaurant & Bar is just steps from the White Oak River in Swansboro’s historic downtown. They offer an eclectic menu with plenty of locally sourced seafood option and a full-service bar. On Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, they also have live music on their open-air front patio.
The Boro Low Country Kitchen
You can’t visit Swansboro with trying the seafood. The Boro Low Country Kitchen specializes in seafood boils, a coastal Carolina tradition. Take a seat and enjoy the views of the White Oak River, or call ahead to take your boil out for a day at the beach or on the boat.
Recreation
Pogie’s Fishing and Kayaking
Pogie’s Fishing and Kayaking Center offers kayak rentals and sales, eco tours, fishing charters, and island taxis.
Hammock’s Beach State Park
Hammock’s Beach State Park is located just a few minutes from downtown Swansboro. It offers a little of nearly everything for which the Crystal Coast is famous: hikinig, fishing, camping, paddling, swimming, and, of course, beaches.
